Do schools, businesses, and other places temporarily shut down? Are we given surgical masks like in Mexico? What will the effects be when I level 6 is announced?..because something tells me it's only days away...

I think level 6 maybe by Sunday - the cases are doubling daily. The sad thing is drs. have been warning the world's governments for years this was gonna happen.
Level 6 means its pandemic - it is all around the world and cannot be contained. Thats all this means. It doesn't necessarily mean businesses, schools, etc. will close (although I have no plans on going out unnecessarily.) TB is currently pandemic and no one's shouting from the rooftops- so use a little common sense. Take hand sanitizer with you every where you go and use it often.
Not a bad idea to stock up on canned food. At the very worst, you'll end up donating it to the food bank. In 1918 ppl were not allowed to leave their homes, colleges, etc. but we will have to wait and see. The mortality rate of that flu was significantly higher than this one. So don't panic, just be cautious.

It's the biggest scale (it goes from 1-6). So they are going to take big precautions.
