Well, which one is it? Nothing to worry about, or a possible pandemic?

President Obama said it "was not cause for alarm". The DHS didn't put us "on a pandemic alert". A public health emergency was declared. This is a mechanism to release millions of doses of anti-viral drugs from the national stockpile and make it easier for the states to access the drugs, should it be necessary.

It isn't anything to worry about yet.
There is no reason for people to start panicking when nobody in the US is dying from it yet... unless you have a problem with washing your hands.
By any standards, it is just a normal flu in the USA...well with the exception that it jumps specie barriers.
So just don't be getting intimate with any hogs or chickens, or with anyone who has.

Maybe if Obama did something more than preen and pat himself on the back for his first 100 days in office, we would actually have a government that did more than just blame Republicans for all the troubles of the world – CLOSE THE BORDERS and then President Obama can once again invoke his time-tested alibi: He inherited the problem. o_O

they need to quarantine all the people that went to mexico recently and everyone they had contact with and give them treatment. If they tighten up the borders and keep all them illegal mexicans out of the country that would also help.

He did not say it was not anything to worry about, just not something to panic about.

Because it would not be wise for the President to come out say we're all going to die..
Tends to cause somewhat of a disruption if that happens.

What color was the alert?
