FIRST, lets look at the definition of "Pandemic" according to the WHO:
- Emergence of a disease new to a population.
- Agents infect humans, causing serious illness.
- Agents spread easily and sustainably among humans
... it is simply an Epidemic over a wide geographic area and affecting a large proportion of the population.
SO far, this Swine Flu has a FAR lower mortality rate that the normal flu. YES, it may mutate, but so far it hasn't.
The way to STOP a contagious disease is to limit contact with others, quarantine those infected, and to limit travel. A vaccine would also help, but that is months off.
Take a look at the WHO (World Health Organizations) method of grading the levels... it's either ON or OFF: "Phase 6, the pandemic phase, is characterized by community level outbreaks in at least one other country in a different WHO region in addition to the criteria defined in Phase 5. Designation of this phase will indicate that a global pandemic is under way."
That JUST means it's on TWO continents !!

Its a bit late now, to be honest....
It has hit over 70 countries, and most have kept their schools open, etc and kept public gatherings on. Its a bit impossible at this point to stop it from spreading....

you have to let it run its course, you can give meds, and encourage hand washing and safe coughing and sneezing habits but you can't stop it

Once it reached to become a pandemic, there is no turning back point & no way to stop it, so lets just pray for gods mercy.

They'll stop talking about it on tv and whatever so much then people will lose interest.
*edit, the world will end in a swine flu... by the way, did anybody hear about the pigs that were infected by the farmer who caught swine flu... heh heh, first time it ever happened, dirty farmer*

probably isolate the infected then fly them off to the moon because killing is wrong. :)
