Hi,
I just got back from Mexico (Tijuana) 4 days back to San Diego.
But now swine flu is real bad news.
And this time when I return, I am actually going for more than 7days.
How can I try be safe?
I will be working closely with lots of children so avoiding physical contact is not easy.

Avoid close contact.
Avoid close contact with people who are sick. Stay away from hospitals unless you're having an emergency, as hospitals could be one of the likeliest places you could be exposed to swine virus. Avoid visiting any public area unless it’s really necessary. Wear a mask when in crowded public places and when you go to the doctors. Skip public transportation. The Swine Flu Virus is spread through the air. Any place, such as a bus or plane, that causes you to be confined with others in a small place,
Practice other good health habits.
Washing your hands often will help protect you from germs. Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs are often spread when a person touches something that is contaminated with germs and then touches his or her eyes, nose, or mouth. Wash your hands often, especially before, during, and after preparing food. Before you eat and after going to the bathroom. Use alcohol wipes to clean shopping carts handles, restaurant tables and high chairs.
Get Enough Rest.
Just like it becomes harder for you to get your daily tasks done if you're tired, if your body is overly fatigued it will be harder for it to fight the flu. Get plenty of sleep, be physically active, manage your stress and drink plenty of fluids.
Eat Garlic Regularly
Garlic does more than make our food taste good, it can aid in the healing and even prevention of certain medical conditions. Studies have shown that garlic extract improves immune function, giving our natural defense system a boost, and helping it conserve our levels of antioxidants in our system. It is this strengthening of the immune system that aids in its support for other health related conditions.
Exercise
Exercise increase circulation of blood flow throughout your body. The components of your immune system are also better circulated, which means your immune system has a better chance of combating an intruders before it has a chance to cause havoc in your body. Exercising helps your immune system to be more efficient in weeding out and acting upon viruses and diseases.
Establish a healthy diet plan
Establish a consistent diet plan that consists of all your vitamins and minerals. Add diversity to your diet by way of implementing a variety of fruits, vegetables and other foods to promote general health and well being. Eat about 2 servings of yogurt, preferably the type with special digestive enzymes which promote the growth of healthy bacteria that is needed to aid in a healthy immune system. Green tea is also a world renown supplement which improves metabolic function and increases immunity.

Hey there,
In Australia, a well-known Biologist and a Bird Flu expert wrote a book entitled: "The Bird and Swine Flu Survival Guide" which could save your love-ones or your life!
He's been increasing becoming popular with his book being featured in Australian Newspaper and so forth because of the current Swine Flu epidemic. The Health authorities have praised and acknowledged his book to be informative and true.

Hello, There is NO Health RISK in this area at all. There are NO Travel Alerts are issued for this area at all. The strong swine type of flu is all over the world now, not just Mexico City. The W.H.O. says, "To restrict travel would be useless and not helpful". Please call me directly in Cancun at 1-888-335-1996 I have lived here 8 years. Anyone that says Mexico is not safe is an uninformed fear-monger and not a very smart person. They are only out to spread fear without knowing the facts, plain and simple.

I don't know about specific places in Mexico to avoid, but the sites listed below have advice to avoid infection.
You could maybe wear latex gloves (there are non-allergenic gloves) too - although you still mustn't touch your face.
I would watch/listen to the news to find out official reports of where the outbreaks are, or go to news websites, eg. www.bbc.co.uk
The first BBC link has a URL for unofficial reports - but this might just scare you for nothing.

The smartest choice is just not going to Mexico. Now idk exactly the areas where it is.. but i do kno it is in Mexico & for all we kno it could be errwhere in Mexico. It is the place where this mess started & has even reached my area Maryland. See how far it has traveled. The world could be at danger becuz of this flu. Yu kno it is serious becuz ppl have already died becuz of this. Im really scared to get it myself. If you go yu could possibly catch it & then give it to your friends.. family.. err1 yu kno.. then it could spread to more ppl. It is def best if yu stay behind. Be smart. I kno i would not go. Im scared to even go eat at a mexican resturant. ha.

Avoid Canada and espesiallly Mexico. Avoid new york too. Avoid any places that have cases of the swine flu. You should wash your hands a lot. And I mean a lot. You should also cover your coughs.

If you're of Hispanic descent, I wouldn't go. This flu with pig/bird/human RNA seems to be a designer virus made to kill Latinos. Tourists who have this swine flu are making full recoveries.

Just wash your hands often, in case you do have physical contact with someone.
