To some degree I think they are. Most if not all of the people who have died have underlying health conditions and that can happen with regular flu. I have an underlying health condition so I am definitely concerned about it and plan on taking precautions.
I feel sorry for people like the Egyptians who have been ordered to kill all their pigs even though you can't get H1N1 from eating pork.

Well, about 120 cases of death in mexico
2-3 (maybe) in the us
2000-3000 deaths in us each year from normal flu
thats about 5.5-8.3 each day.
Yeah, currently, i feel its overhyped.
The news takes any story and pumps it up to get more attention.
They exaggerate things over what they really are.
Also, americans are just too afraid and paranoid at times.
I'll post a link to show you something that shows nothing huge has happened yet

i do. yeah, it's killed a few people so far in the US... but what everyone fails to remember...
About 30,000 to 40,000 deaths occur due to the flu each year in the United States. That number could equate to 300,000 to 500,000 deaths worldwide. The majority of flu-related deaths occur in people over the age of 65.

I do. After all, thousands of people die each year from regular flu, and no one ever panics about that. However, I think swine flu is something people should be concerned about--I don't think there's any reason to panic, though. (Most cases of swine flu in the US have been minor.)

Overreacting? Yea.

Fifty people (at least) are dead from it. I would call that "serious enough" - it kills people. Or is that not serious?
