The Centers for Disease Control says 30% to 50% of commercial U.S. swine have been infected with swine flu. As people are concerned about the current outbreak of swine flu in humans and potential for a deadly pandemic with this type and other types such as bird flu from chickens, what do you think about the role that massive factory farms play in the outbreak of these diseases?http://www.humanesociety.org/farm/news/o...http://www.grist.org/article/2009-04-25-...http://www.cdc.gov/swineflu/pdf/brochure...

It plays a huge role, and Upton Sinclair told us so back in 1906 with his novel, The Jungle.

We've always had swine flu, but diseases mutate and that is the problem with flu. It has nothing to do with farming.

No I dont think it has anything to do with it.
The government probably started the disease. Its weird how a disease just randomly appears from nowhere, isnt it? And the government knows the earth is over-populated, so there trying to kill many of us.

well I remember when the news had us worrying about every dead wild bird we found then it turned out that bird flu had come from the Bernard mathews factory from imported birds.
Any time you get large amounts of animals living together in poorly ventilated unsanitary and stressful conditions you will get illness. Its a no brainer, and I will be very cross if I end up dead because someone wanted cheap pork ;)
