I have been learning off of the news that more and more cases of the swine flu have been caught in Canada all the way from Mexico. How do you know that you have it? Is it deadly? How can it be spread?

Swine flu viruses typically sicken pigs, not humans. Most cases occur when people come in contact with infected pigs or contaminated objects moving from people to pigs.
• Pigs can catch human and avian or bird flu. When flu viruses from different species infect pigs, they can mix inside the pig and new, mixed viruses can emerge.
• Pigs can pass mutated viruses back to humans and they can be passed from human to human. Transmission among humans is thought to occur in the same way as seasonal flu - by touching something with flu viruses and then touching their mouth or nose, and through coughing or sneezing.
• Symptoms of swine flu in people are similar to those of seasonal influenza - sudden fever, coughing, muscle aches and extreme fatigue. This new strain also appears to cause more diarrhea and vomiting than normal flu.
• Vaccines are available to be given to pigs to prevent swine influenza. There is no vaccine to protect humans from swine flu although the CDC is formulating one. The seasonal influenza vaccine may help provide partial protection against swine H3N2, but not swine H1N1 viruses, like the one circulating now.
• People cannot catch swine flu from eating pork or pork products. Cooking pork to an internal temperature of 160 degrees Fahrenheit kills the swine flu virus as it does other bacteria and viruses.

the swine flu is a mix of traits from the bird, pig and human flu. normally people get it from being around pigs but in some cases like in 1976 and now it being cared from person to person. so far this time 20 people died from it in mexico. here in the usa their are so far 8 cases with more popping up, but in usa we have medicine for it so no one has died yet. so the reason why people are talking about it is because it has happen many times before and now it is happening again, but no need to worry we are working on something as we speak. one last thing the Symptoms include fever, disorientation, stiffness of the joints, vomiting, and loss of consciousness ending in death so i think you are safe, but if you are still worried go to your doctor and get a check up ok ^_^

While some people in Mexico have died from that particular strain of the flu, none have elsewhere---yet.
The cases in the US and Canada haven't resulted in deaths, but that doesn't rule out the possibility.
Let's not overreact and panic just yet. Remember the bird flu, and also the SARS viruses a couple of years ago? People got all upset over them, also, and it didn't affect us here in the USA.
Most people survive the flu, and most of the types of flu that we've had in the US, have affected older people and people in ill health moreso than younger individuals in good health.

From what I hear, this strain is more powerful then the typical kind. It's spreading really fast and they've already had to quarantine much of Mexico City and southern Texas and it has spread as far as New Zealand. By the looks of it, nowhere and no one is safe.

You don't know, until it's too late. It's extremely deadly, and by next year, everyone you know will probably be dead. It's spread through the air. It's best to just quarantine yourself from the world. You can carry on the human race after we are all DED.

No Cases Are In Canada, It Spreads From Human To Human Contact And Pig To Human Contact.....It Is Deadly In Mexico,But The Strain In America Is Not As Bad A The Regular Flu And That Has The CDC Puzzled,If You Have It You'll Have The Symptoms Of The Flu.
Hope This Helps:)
