I'd like to know your source as well. Is it just something you heard or is it straight from WHO?

Nothing much really. It is just a declaration by the authorities monitoring the situation. Doesn't really change things one way or the
other except in people's mind.

Really? Who told you that?
If they were supposedly raising it then, it is as good as raised now, since the info has been announced.
I know for a fact you are wrong. So what are you talking about ?

Well, it means that global pandemic is very imminent. It also means time to take action is short. I see the closing of businesses and schools...sort of like the SARS virus in Asia not too long ago. May good keep us all safe.

They aren't certain. They just said they are considering it.
"The World Health Organization will convene an emergency session Thursday in which it will consider raising its threat level from 4 to 5, which would indicate widespread human infection."

This flu thing should not make people panic regardless of any deaths reported. Freaking out doesn't bring back the dead reported in the news.
Just focus on your own hygiene, don't do excess alcohol or eat junk foods, eat right and get plenty of rest. Your immune system can fight it and you can recover if you get it.
Flu viruses are air born virus that you take in through your nose and mouth area. People touch their faces very frequently and unconsciously all of the time.
A kid has it, sneezes on a desk, and a kid sits in that desk not knowing that a kid was just sitting there and sneezed on it. Then, they touch their face from the desk and get it.
That is pretty much how it spreads.
Inconspicuously and fast.
Lastly, the flu virus mutates in a matter of days and does mutate itself into a less harmful state. This is a fact, it is the natural life cycle of flu viruses to run their course and mutate into a less harmful state.
They have to, because their life cycle can only last so long before a tipping point of the human immune system or mammalian immune system renders it useless and it must mutate to keep alive.
Thus, it just simply turns into a less harmful flu virus and the other version dies off.
In the mean time, as always... Infants and the elderly are particularly vulnerable to any flu virus as pneumonia can develop and having a vulnerable and weakened immune system can cause serious complications and even death.
So, seemingly healthy people need to eat right, get plenty of rest to make their immune system running on top of things so that its not caught off guard from viruses, bacteria, fungus or any other pathogen.
