I'm a little worried living in AZ, a border state with Mexico. AZ has sent off 4 flu bug specimens from possibly infected people to the CDC so far to test for swine flu, but it hasn't been confirmed yet. Makes me nervous...

Thanks for the link. I'm a little confused about the symptoms - I know it says cough and sore throat, but to me those are normal cold symptoms that are common in a household with children. How do you know when to get checked out?

I wasn't scared until I read on Yahoo! before logging on to Answers, that a toddler in Texas was the first confirmed death of the Swine Flu outside of Mexico. I am not going anywhere. I am just going to sit at home with my kiddos.

washed my hands about 10 times yesterday, and didn't want to touch anything anyone else touched in traffic school last night. thought about getting rubber gloves. im already grossed out about other people's germs and touching public things, but now it is even worse

I live in Canada, but there have been 13 confirmed cases here and 1 of those cases, in the city that I live in. Yes I worry but I am trying to stay calm and rational about it. There's no point in getting worked up over something that may or may not infect us. We need to be educated and know what its about but we need to stay level headed and not panic.
This is a scary time. But people die from different things all the time. So really, is the the pandemic that the world has been waiting for? I think everyone has thought that of the previous outbreaks such as SARS, etc.
Westjet will not be flying to Mexico anymore until June 4 and it seems other Airlines are pulling those flights too.

Yes I am too. Mainly because I dont know much about what can be done for us when we are with child. Im worried because Im only 6 weeks pregnant and I dont even know if we can take tamaflu. Im scared too. I have a 2 yr old Im equally concerned about. I have no clue what happens to pregnant women when they get the flu. If my unborn child was at no risk than I wouldn't be concerned. From what I read its no different from the regular flu. But being with child puts another twist on the scenario. Thanks for the info!
