i did a little research on cnn and it said the reason why swine flu is killing people is because of the way it attacks the body. it attacks the body so suddenly and strong that your immune system sort of over reacts and starts to fight the virus, but the problem is that your immune system starts to attack healthy organs. also the swine flu is killing people that are in between the ages of 15 to 60 because they tend to have the strongest immune system compared to children and the elderly. hope this helps.

If the flu is not treated correctly, serious complications may occur, such as respiratory infections (pneumonia) Some individuals are more vulnerable than others.
Complications of flu can include bacterial pneumonia, ear infections, sinus infections, dehydration, and worsening of chronic medical conditions, such as congestive heart failure, asthma, or diabetes. All this because the virus affects the immune system making it more vulnerable to get infected with all kind of other illnesses.
Viruses have different mechanisms by which they produce disease in an organism, which largely depends on the viral species. Some viruses can cause life-long or chronic infections, where the viruses continue to replicate in the body despite the hosts' defense mechanisms.

People in 3rd world countries usually walk around barefoot and live in areas where running water isn't readily available.
We know that by simply washing our hands we can help fight swine flu, but in places like Mexico where being poor means being dirt poor they don't have it like the poor of the U.S. do.
That's what's causing these deaths. Lack of finances to see a doctor.

the flu alone cannot kill you. its other infections that your body has, like pneumonia..because your body is already weak from being sick. people are dying in mexico because they dont have the kind of medical treatments like we do here in the U.S. and over there in the not so great parts of mexico, sanitation isnt all that great either

I think the people in Mexico that died developed pneumonia or had other infections.
