I know that food like pork meat doesn't initially contain the virus, but what if someone who was infected or had the flu bacteria on their fingers or something, and touched the food? Wouldn't the food then be contaminated? And then wouldn't you get infected if you ate it? My main concern is cafeteria food which is exposed to the lunch ladies and the rest of the school population. For now I stopped eating it. Thanks.

forget just the swine flu, but think what other germs are on your meal if not cooked at home, I'm sure you didn't think about that before swine flu

food cannot be contaminated by H1N1, and if you think it is, then just remember that cooking any kind of meat kills any kind of bacteria/viruses on it anyways

yes you can
if someone infected with it touches it and you eat it
then yes you can become infected with the h1n1 virus

Are you in an area where cases of Swine flu have been recorded?
If not do not let yourself become paranoid about this. If you do not eat, and it does arrive in your area you will then be more open to pick it up as your system will get down

Good point, usually all germs are omitted from the food by the heat, however if the food is cooked, and someone happens to sneeze on it, that food is definitely infected. Pack your lunch, wash your hands, and keep an eye out for sick people.

If somebody happens to be infected with it, and coughs or sneezes on the food and you ingest it almost immediately after I suppose its possible.
The typical flu kills an average of 36,000 people each year in the US alone. The 'swine flu' is transmitted in the exact same way - so as long as you wash your hands regularly and keep them away from your nose/eyes/mouth you shouldn't worry. Just treat it like you would any other flu season.
