Do you think that there is a connection made in people's minds when the hear the word Pandemic that makes them think of Panic and the kind of social chaos that implies. Do you suppose they visualize lootings, shootings and riots?

Why the overreaction by the WHO? Why would US states declare a state of emergency and close schools for such a mild illness?

Just recently my brothers and sisters are having fears of the swine flu and they are afraid of going back to school they are scared because they can get the flu like disease called the swine flu.
Is there a way for my brothers and sisters as well as niece and nephews to protect themselves during school hours since there's a chance of an outbreak otherwise the best thing i can think of is not sending them to school until i make sure its been contain.

from what i have read the current "swine flu" is a mixture of human ,avian and two types of swine flu. so if it is in fact part swine shouldn't the name still stick? i know the pig farmers where in a uproar because it might hurt their bottom dollar but isn't the current epidemic a little more important than their wallets or is the government pushing a change of the name so as not to worry people ?

This end May we are traveling to NYC with a 2 year old toddler. We have everything booked. Is it save to go there for vacation right now with all the Swine Flu situation there? We are so looking forward for this vacation, we are coming from Aruba.

I'm currently in El Salvador a central american country south of Mexico and would like to take precautions against the swine flu but oseltamivir or tamiflu is out of my budget. Is there anything else I can take?

Will there be better relations between Canada, USA, and Mexico after this epidemic we are going thru? If it gets really bad, or even if it doesnt, the North American Union is working hard to get it under control. After working together, dont you think relations will get better?
And if the worst happens, and this epidemic does kill thousands, dont you think that this are might turn as free as the european union?
