~ With the Swine flu one level from turning into a pandemic, how soon would you start to buy at least a 2 to 3 week supply of non perishables, and necessities ? What should we be buying and is 2 to 3 weeks worth enough? If this turns into a pandemic, it is possible that local stores will be so short handed, that they will be limited to store hours, deliveries can be delayed even come to a stand still if it does spread as fast as the CDC is expecting. I would just like to be prepared.

I know its curable & you shouldn't panic cause its just like the flu, but do you think basically everyone will get this disease?
And do you think in 2 weeks schools will start closing because of this disease? Like all around the country?

Why the overreaction by the WHO? Why would US states declare a state of emergency and close schools for such a mild illness?
Is this about health, or about state governments getting a check they don't really need?

Do schools, businesses, and other places temporarily shut down? Are we given surgical masks like in Mexico? What will the effects be when I level 6 is announced?..because something tells me it's only days away...

I'm wondering if there is a plan in place to stop air, ship and rail travel, should the WHO declare a level 6. If I travel somewhere far, is there a possibility of getting stuck there, short of walking home?

If I work at a in patient (meaning that people live there) residential treatment center for people recovering from drugs and alcohol and the swine flu goes to a level 6, will I be allowed to stay home from work? And if so, would the residents of the center be allowed to go home to their families or would they have to quarantine here at the center. Thank you in advance for your answers

the government. if it reaches level 6, anyone who has swine flu will not be admitted to a hospital unless it's the most severe. hahaha. die!!!

I just want to see what other ppl's input is on this. Do you think we'll be raised to 6?, cause there's more states with cases and already one death. Or do you think we'll level off on 5? I hope we'll start to level off soon. My guess is that we'll stay at 5. Luckily, I live in a state with no cases and that it can be treated with Tamiflu.

Level 6 appears to carry no special "World Government" clamp downs. It simply appears to be a description that the disease has jumped to multiple "WHO" regions instead of being isolated in one.
"Phase 6, the pandemic phase, is characterized by community level outbreaks in at least one other country in a different WHO region in addition to the criteria defined in Phase 5. Designation of this phase will indicate that a global pandemic is under way."

Now we're in the fifth level. If we reach the sixth, what happens? Do school close or something like that?

I see that the WHO has moved to level 5 with the swine flu. They say that level 6 is immenent. What does that mean? What should ordinary people expect and prepare for?

Apparently at 8:00 mountain time WHO will make an announcement that they are raising the pandemic to level 5. What actions will be made in Canada and U.S

I know the definition of pandemic level 6, but what does it mean in real terms? How many more confirmed cases and confirmed deaths would it take, and what geographical spread would be needed?
