Swine Flu Info Blog

My friend works at a cancer clinic, and they have been advised to send any people who come in for treatment for testing if they have flu like symptoms. Since the treatment and in some cases the type of cancer causes "flu-like symptoms" in at least 80% of cancer patients, her department has been sending the majority of their patients to get tested.
Does this seem unnecessary to you? We live in a province in Canada that has not had any confirmed swine flu cases.

I reckon it is. 137 people have actually died from Swine Flu all over the world. 4 times that amount of people did on Australian roads each year. I think things like the Economic crisis or Global warming a more important.

What exactly was his reasoning? Do you think there is now any chance for a widespread 9-11 type "accident" with labwork pathogens?

This end May we are traveling to NYC with a 2 year old toddler. We have everything booked. Is it save to go there for vacation right now with all the Swine Flu situation there? We are so looking forward for this vacation, we are coming from Aruba.

Why is everyone getting all paranoid and worried over nothing?
You are more likely to die of regular flu, the government is trying to make things seem far worse then what they actually are as they have nothing else (other then the recession) to talk about, it's all just the media overly exaggerating... remember bird flu?
And I'm sick of people who "think" they have it. Honestly people get a grip, the world is not ending only seek real help if you actually need it. I have seen so many questions today on people who claim they have contracted the disease.
