Swine Flu Info Blog

We're now up to 147 cases and it's increasing huge amounts each day. There are more cases of swine flu here than any other country in the world apart from Mexico. Why are there so many?

Just wondering because it has been said that the whole swine flu thing is just a media hype to distract us all from taxes, global warming and all the other problems our little world seems to have these days. I know people have died and that's bad but is it as serious as the media are claiming or are we just panicking over something fairly mild?

There have been about 3 influenza pandemics in each century for the last 300 years, the most recent ones were the Asian Flu in 1957 and the Hong Kong Flu in 1968.

Sadly,people die from the flu every day--but we are only hearing about the swine flu.

I'm sure I'm not the only person wondering or even asking this on Yahoo, but how much worse/different is the Swine Flu from the annual flu that sweeps through, you know?

I'm busy writing an essay to apply to a trip to Southern Africa. It's on the HIV/AIDS pandemic and I'd really love to get some real news feed on it. I'd love it if people, could just let me know what their countries or areas are hearing and doing about the pandemic.
